Artist Statement

Life as an artist affords me the great privelege of seeing much of this wonderful world that we live in. This provides the inspiration for the bulk of my work which questions the absurdity of superficial veneers using observational pathos.....something is what it is, without the clutter. My aim is to strip away that superficial veneer of any subject and to capture its essence, capturing a moment, not a dramatic one, something evocative, occasionally ordinary, but always honest and without the need for a narrative.

Painting and art are two different things. The work I do is a process which builds a bridge between the artist and the viewer. That bridge would not be possible without the help of the models who sit for me, studio bound for hours at a time. I pay homage to them here. Thank you.
